One Year

One year since October 7th,
One year since we’ve awakened,
One year since the morning horrors,
One year it’s hard to believe.

One year, our soldiers keep fighting,
One year, candles we keep lighting.
One year, our hostages were taken,
One year, our hearts are still breaking.

One year a million tears,
One year a million fears.
One year, we grow stronger,
One year, we waited longer.

One year, we maintain our faith,
One year, enemies still wait.
One year not yet safe,
One year we stand with grace.

One year we’ve been in the dark,
One year, we still hold a spark.
One year we won’t let them win,
One year they’ll pay for their sins.

One year with Hashem on our side,
One year we pray they survive.
One year we fight for peace,
One year may our captives be released.

On October 7th, the world may have bled,
But the light in our souls has never been dead.
